Spasticity clinic

Spasticity is a condition characterized by muscle hyperactivity. Muscles contract or tighten for no reason resulting in increased muscle tone or muscle stiffness that can alter one’s ability to function. If it remains untreated, it can cause muscles or tendons to shorten, which in turn leads to muscle spasms.
Spasticity can be linked to various neurological conditions such as a stroke, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injuries, or head trauma. The injection of botulinum toxin is a proven treatment for focal spasticity. A group of highly specialized doctors leads our spasticity clinic. They provide patients with renowned expertise in the treatment of spasticity through ultrasound- and electromyography-guided injections of botulinum toxin.
